Partnerships

The concept that birthed Yaaya is simple, yet it speaks to deep-seated issues of identity and integration that have yet to be fully addressed in European society today.
Research has shown that the overwhelming majority who benefit from initiatives targeting the under-representation or marginalisation of black people in society are black men. In the same vein, the overwhelming majority who benefit from initiatives targeting the under-representation or marginalisation of women in society are white women. So, where does this leave the black woman? According to the double jeopardy hypothesis, nowhere. She becomes socially invisible.
Yaaya believes that we have a responsibility to contribute to solving the issue of social invisibility faced by black women in 21st century Europe. Our efforts, aims and goals to promote a positive perspective on black women in European society today is a key step in the direction of that solution.
We also recognise that, as with all problems, the solution to social invisibility of black women in Europe requires a multi-faceted approach, involving ideas, initiatives and organisations such as Yaaya. As such, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded organisations, who are equally committed to promoting a different perspective of black women in Europe.
If you are interested in partnering with Yaaya, we would love to hear from you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at yaaya.info@gmail.com.
